CM Bhagwant Mann: No power cuts this year, here's details

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed a press conference on Friday. During this, while giving information, CM Mann said that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has cleared the entire dues of Rs 20 thousand 200 crore on behalf of the government.

The CM said that this is the first time in the history of PSPCL that the government has paid the entire subsidy. Now this year the power supply will be in a good way in the summer, there will be no cut.

9 thousand crores will be given in 5 installments

PSPCL CMD Baldev Singh Saran was also present along with CM Bhagwant Mann during the press conference. CM Mann said that earlier subsidy money was not given to PSPCL, but now it is being given regularly. He said that 9000 crores was outstanding for the previous years and 17000 crores was this year's subsidy bill. The government has given 20000 crores to PSPL. At the same time, the 9000 crores that is outstanding will be given in five installments. CM Mann said that 9063 crore rupees have been given to the agriculture sector for power subsidy.

The same domestic consumer has been given power subsidy of Rs 8225 crore. Apart from this, subsidy of 2911 crores has been given to the industrial sector.

3538 New jobs given in electricity department

CM Bhagwant Mann told that 3538 new jobs have been given by his government in the electricity department. He said that the scheme of free electricity being given to the domestic consumers of Punjab will still continue. Subsidy money has been given to PSPCL, so now there will be no problem of electricity in summer. The same CM Mann told that this year there has been a huge increase in the revenue. There has been an increase of about 16.6 percent in the GST collection.
